The Battle of Dilman was one of three major battles that was fought between Russia and the Ottoman Empire and it resulted in a Russian victory. [1] Apart from the Armenian officers and soldiers who served in the units of the Russian army, the Armenians also ran six volunteer battalions which, under the leadership of commanders such as Andranik, Dro, Armen Garo Pasdermadjian, Tchékho, Hamazasp, Keri, Avsharian, Vartan and Prince Argoutian, were awarded glorious titles for their work at the Caucasian front.
