Berkeley Lent was the 38th Chief Justice of the Oregon Supreme Court. Elected to the court in 1976, Lent served as Chief Justice from 1982 to 1983. Lent is currently a senior judge for the state of Oregon.[1]

Graduated from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon.[2]
[edit] Political career
Lent began his state political life in the state house as a Democrat from Portland, serving from 1963 to 1966.[1] He then served in the state senate from 1967 to 1971.[2]
Lent was elected to the bench in November of 1976 to replace the outgoing Kenneth O’Connell.[3] Mr. Lent was then re-elected to another six-year term in 1982.[3] Justice Lent then resigned from the bench on September 30, 1988.[3] George Van Hoomissen was elected in May of that year to replace Lent.[3]
