Gerald Chamales is the founder and chairman of Rhinotek, a well-known third-party manufacturer of computer printer accessories. In his mid-20s, he was formerly homeless and addicted to drugs and alcohol. Then he turned his life around, and is now a prominent advocate for the rights of homeless people.
He is the son of Tom Chamales, author of "Never So Few," which was adapted into a movie starring Frank Sinatra. He briefly attended San Fernando High School in San Fernando, CA and was known for his numerous celebity impersonations.
He and his wife, Kathleen, were unfortunate enough to buy a home next to O.J. Simpson's mansion, just before Simpson was accused of murder in 1994. The U.S. Tax Court ultimately ruled that the constant presence of media and tourists for the next four years could not support a casualty loss deduction on the Chamales' income tax return.
