Metals are chemical elements that readily conduct electricity and heat, form cations and bonds ionically.
Metal may also refer to:
- metals, in astronomy, refers to all elements with atom number greater than hydrogen and helium;
- metal (classical element), in Chinese Taoism;
- road metal, the crushed rock used for railway roadbeds and embankments;
- in heraldry, two of the seven basic tinctures are known as the metals, since they are metallic in color.
Metal also has a number of uses relating to music:
- metal (music), also known as Heavy Metal, is a genre of music;
- Metal: A Headbanger's Journey, is a documentary about the birth of metal and all of its spawned sub-genres;
- there is a song named Metal which appears on Gary Numan's The Pleasure Principle (album);
