Saint-Alyre-d'Arlanc

St Alyre d'Arlanc ia a small village at an altitude of 860 meters in the Massif Central region of central France. It is situated on the D999 road and almost mid-way between the cities of Clermont-Ferrand and St Etienne at the heart of the Parc naturel régional Livradois-Forez. The Canton comprises the small hamlets of Chouviaux, Pauly, Bressoles, Bressolettes, La Ferreire, Germalange, Aubepierre, Le Montel, Tremoulet and Chelles.
Population: Year round - 50 permanent residents. Population swells to approx 200 during the summer months.

- Annual Fete Patronale: held 3rd weekend in July. Historic Pageant, Funfair, Disco/Dance, Torchlit Retreat, Fireworks.
The village is surrounded by pine forest with wild mushrooms to be found in the woods during autumn, rolling countryside and it is on the pilgrim trail. 9kms to the south is the Mediaeval Abbey town of La Chaise Dieu.
