[edit] StarMetro Gillig BRT photo
I captured (from television) a shot of a new bus in Tallahassee's fleet but I'm having problems with User talk:Chowbok and fair use. This may go to adm. assistance. Noles1984 23:09, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
- To go furher, I've asked for photos of buses and cannot get people to obtain these. I request this image stand until an actual camera photo is submitted by a user. Noles1984 23:26, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
- Sorry, but our policy is that images that could be replaced by free ones are to be deleted, even if a free one doesn't currently exist. —Chowbok ☠ 23:28, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
- Make note, Chowbok, that the general public, for recent security and safety purposes, does not have access to the City of Tallahassee's motor pool for an elevated photo of a parked city vehicle. Noles1984 14:16, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
- Why is it necessary to have an elevated photo of a parked bus? What's wrong with a street-level photo of a bus at an intersection? —Chowbok ☠ 16:25, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
- Well you believe artistic value is best from street level, I believe that a slightly elevated shot is the best photo for an overall view of this paticular bus as it shows more of the vehicle in question... especially the rear humped roof. Obtaining a good photo of something taller than myself at 6'2" is difficult. Still, the bus cannot be accessed at the motorpool for security reasons. Noles1984 16:20, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

All the images at commons:Bus are taken from street level. However the guiding principle here is not where the camera is placed but the copyright status of the image. Unless there is something on that roof that needs to be shown a street-level photograph is an acceptable replacement. --Oden 16:28, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
