The Saints (1960s band)

The Saints were an instrumental band that worked for producer Joe Meek. Members were Tab Martin (fresh from his stint with The Tornados), Roy Phillips (playing guitar) and drummer Ricky Winters. They worked as house band for Joe Meek's productions, and as such backed Heinz, Andy Cavell and others. Their only hit was their cover of The Surfaris' Wipe Out.
Tab Martin and Roy Phillips went on to found The Peddlers in 1963.
