[edit] Working towards NPOV
In conjunction with Bearian I've edited this page to remove the perceived advertisement slant. I think it's getting there - though it wasn't all that blatant in the first place, compared to some I've seen! Not sure if we should keep the curriculum list, and also not sure about the external links, which are, after all to for-profit sites. What do others think? Smalljim 22:36, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
- I think's it's fair to have commercial, for-profit entities on external links. I shortened the curriculum list to cut out most of the red links and keep all the blue links, but such lists are fine for college and university web sites. I, too, am concerned that an advertising tone does not make a NPOV. The original article was probably cribbed from the college's website -- as noted on the history page. I'll take another crack at it another day. I should tell you folks that I have a potential conflict of interest, as I work for another proprietary college. I am trying not to promote our sector of education, but Virginia College is neither a direct competitor nor my employer. I should also alert you all that my college is a member of APC and ERCBEC.
