Workshop on Scientific Presentation Techniques
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Workshop on Scientific Presentation Techniques, is a Polish workshop. It is OAK in Polish, for Obóz Atrakcyjnych Konwentykli. OAK was started in 1999 to improve self-presentation and communication skills. First organiser of OAK workshop was Jagiellonian University Natural Sciences Students Association. Participants could practice their own presentation techniques by presenting in public short announcements, preparing posters and slideshows. Presentation performances are video recorded and then scrutinised by the audience. People attend a conference to gain new skills, to exchange ideas and to discuss their work with colleagues from other universities. In order to bring together and to promote closer co-operation among young scientists - students, PhD students, recent PhD graduates from Poland and abroad - conferences were organised by teams from different Polish universities.
