Zion Bible College

Zion Bible College ( ZBC ) is an undergraduate institution of higher learning. It is accredited with the Association for Biblical Higher Education, and officially endorsed by the Assemblies of God. The college is located in Barrington, Rhode Island. The school's sole purpose is to educate and prepare Pentecostal leaders for work in pastoral ministry, prophetic ministry, evangelistic ministry and teaching. The only major that Zion offers is Biblical Studies.

Zion was founded in 1924. It has been known by several different names in its history, including Zion Bible Institute, School of the Prophets, and Mt. Zion Bible College. For many of those years, Zion Bible College was closely associated with Zion Gospel Temple, an independent Pentecostal Church. Zion was founded by Rev. Christine A. Gibson whose husband, Reuben Gibson, was pastoring the Temple. The nearby Zion Faith Home, Inc. was also connected with the school and church for many years while the campus was located in East Providence, Rhode Island. In 1985 Zion relocated to Barrington, R.I., under the leadership of Dr. N. Benjamin Crandall, the president of the college from 1985 to 2000. Zion Gospel Temple is still operating from East Providence, Rhode Island.

There is a moderate dress code and very specific standards for students. Chapel is held Tuesday through Friday and is mandatory for all full-time students. There is one dormitory for men, one for women and one for married students. Students are also held to nightly campus and room curfews, and weekly room inspections.
