Falketind is a mountain in Årdal, Sogn og Fjordane, Norway.
The ascent in 1820 was the first ascent on an alpine mountain in Norway. The party of three went via Snøggeken (Falkbreen) and the northern rigde. At that time the mountain was named Koldedalstinden, but Aasmund Olavsson Vinje named the mountain Falketind more than fifty years later. In retrospect, the expedition leading to the first ascent is seen like the "discovery of Jotunheimen".
