Farhang Mehr

Farhang Mehr is Professor Emeritus of International Relations at Boston University. He is a former deputy prime minster of Iran. He has also served as the Chancellor of Shiraz University (formerly called Pahlavi University) in Shiraz. He was also Iran's governor in OPEC and revolutionized Iran's oil and insurance industries. He left Iran after the Islamic Revolution for United States in 1979, where he currently lives with his family in Massachusetts.
He continues to serve and support Zoroastrian community worldwide.
Farhang Mehr is the only Zoroastrian to achieve a high political rank in Iran.
He has written several books including:
- Zoroastrian Tradition: An Introduction to the Ancient Wisdom of Zarathustra (1991).
- A Colonial Legacy (1997)
His biography, Triumph Over Discrimination, was written in 2000 by Lylah M. Alphonse.
