Free Yourself is the debut album by American Idol winner Fantasia Barrino, which was released on November 23, 2004. The album was a great success for Barrino, selling over 240,000 units in its first week, and reaching number eight on the United States album sales chart. Free Yourself has been nominated for more than twenty awards, four of which were Grammy Awards.

Free Yourself, since its debut, has sold over 1.7 million copies in the U.S. According to the album's producer, Clive Davis, sales are well over two million, and is certified platinum in the US. Free Yourself also managed to sell outside of the U.S., selling 200,000 copies in Canada.[citation needed]

The album had a series of hit singles beginning with "I Believe", which debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. Her next most successful singles, "Truth Is" and the title track, "Free Yourself", were not very successful on the Hot 100, but they were R&B hits. Both singles reached number one on the US Adult R&B Airplay chart, with "Truth Is" achieving a record stay at number one on the chart for a female artist at fourteen weeks.
