[edit] Improving the article
Its nice to see so many people adding to the article - maybe we could get it up to Featured Article status one day. It needs a lot of work though; I'd like to note some things;
- Citations. Citations are really important. BMX Magazines are fine, I think, and there's plenty of those around. Some stuff can't be referenced - we all know what a tailwhip is, but theres not many 'reliable' sources we could use to say what it is. But the other stuff; rider histories, dates, commentaries, etc, should be referenced where possible.
- Photos. Hopefully, you guys are all riders. It'd be nice to get pictures of some of these tricks if you can do them. Scanning photos from magazines, or copying them from websites isn't allowed, so you must take the photos yourselves. Take one good enough, you could make it a Featured Picture and get it on the front page.
- Improving the article. I think we need to cut down the list of "Legendary Freestylers". Such a list is problematic on wikipedia, as it is so subjective. Theres quite a few riders that we would all agree belong on that list and who need to be noted, such as Matt Hoffman, Dave Mirra, Dennis McCoy, Van Homan, etc. We need references as reasoning for them being there. Is there a Mag that has done a list of the most influential riders? We could use that as a base.
Thats just a start. --Iorek85 02:23, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Creating Tricks page
Tricks are many. I think that there should be separate "BMX Freestyle Tricks" page. --BMXrace.lv 19:27, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
should street be merged with http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Street_Riding? 84.64.75.186 19:09, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
