Gaucherius (saint)

St. Gaucherius, a Christian saint, was born at Meulan-sur-Seine, France. He got a good Christian education. Once he turned 18, he went to Auriel for a life alone. Soon people came to him and he gave them the Rule of Saint Augustine. Many holy men were trained at this community he founded, including Saint Lambert, Faucherius, and Saint Stephen of Grammont. He died in 1140. His day of recognition is April 9.
