"Get It Shawty" is the second single from Lloyd's sophomore album Street Love. The music video premiered on BET's Access Granted on February 28, 2007. He stated that he wanted to try something different with this track, to have fun and show some of his dance moves. The track was produced by James "JLack" Lackey, the younger brother of R&B singer Usher. Lloyd overheard the beat while at Usher's manager's office and liked it so much that he begged Usher to let him have it for a song.[1] Two remixes have been released, one featuring Yung Joc and another, with a slightly different beat, featuring Yung Joc and Missy Elliott. This second remix is actually a mashup, as Missy Elliot's verse is taken from her single I'm Really Hot. The single debuted on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart at number 57 on the issue date of March 24, 2007 and has thus far peaked at number 18. The following week the single debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at number 76 and has thus far peaked at number 55.[2]
The remix features an up-and-coming rapper, Drake.
