Glory (spacecraft)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Glory is a proposed NASA mission to use the spacecraft as a communication satellite and as an Earth science satellite.
[edit] Overview
As of 2006, much is yet unknown about the spacecraft. But it has been proposed that its main objectives are to gather and emit data to and from planetary/comet missions and/or to study as an unmanned Earth observing laboratory focusing on meteorology. It is to be launched in 2009 by a Delta II rocket. The proposed orbiter is in priority for cancellation due to budget calls and for accomplishing short-term goals like to service the aging Hubble Space Telescope, completion of the International Space Station by 2010, and for the Crew Exploration Vehicle to fly at least in 2014.
