Great Adventure Source is an unofficial web site devoted to Six Flags Great Adventure, a theme park in Jackson Township, New Jersey. It can be found on the Internet under the domain name http://www.gadv.com. Great Adventure Source is the largest online gathering of local roller coaster enthusiasts and fans of the theme park. The web site was created on September 1, 2000 and celebrated its five-year anniversary on September 1, 2005.
Great Adventure Source provides information related to Six Flags Great Adventure, photos of the theme park and its rides, the latest news stories and updates as well as an online message board that grew to over 1,100 registered members as of April 2006.
The Great Adventure Source Forums are the most popular aspect of the web site. It features eleven different forums under four categories and is maintained by seven moderators and five administrators. A visitor is required to register for free in order to post on the message boards. There is a range of categories to post in including several forums related specifically to the Six Flags Great Adventure as well as forums for other theme parks around the world.
The web site provided in-depth coverage of the construction of Superman: Ultimate Flight via a feature known as Rog’s Report. This coverage helped make the web site become better known among the roller coaster enthusiast community. Since then, the web site has provided construction coverage of Kingda Ka and the theme park’s newest coaster, El Toro.
