Greater Church of Israel
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Greater Church of Israel (a.k.a. The Greater House of Jacob, or The Complete Church of The Children of Israel) is a non-celibate monastic communion of Godfearers from the Syriac Nasraani tradition generally referring to themselves as trisa subHa to distinguish themselves from the Assyrian Church of the East, from whom they seceded during the Perso-Byzantine wars sometime after 610. The laity in the Greater Church (העדה) claim legitimacy from a number of lines from various Holy Scriptures such as Ex 12:19, Ex 12:38's Arab Multitude, Lev 17:8-15, Lev 22:18, Lev 24:16, Num 15:15-26,Josh 20:9, Josh 8:35, Ps 42:4 Rev 7:9, and Rev 19:1-6. In Ex 12:19, the laity can not be cut off from The Church if they are not already part of The Church, even though other passages seem to indicate that they only dwell among the Church. They mainly comprise grouping Gimmel of the 10 Yukhasins. To join the monastic community the Laity (Mumineen) have to take a vow before the Abbey (Olneby). The Church is comprised mainly of:
- Church Mothers & Circumcised Abbots (masters of ceremony)
- Friars & Sisters (teachers)
- Azwajrasul Sons & Nasei (administrators)
- Laity (parish)

[edit] Theology
The one and only true mystery is The Holy One (The Divine Mystery) which governs and regulates all things which we consider both good and evil in creation. 2/3 assembling in the name of The Divine Mystery invokes salvation.
According to tradition, The Church was built around Al-Hijr (الحجر) upon the teachings of Saint Peter At first, the Church of Freemen vehemently persecuted the establishment of The Church, but under the guidance of Saul of Tarsus quickly made contrition for their atrocities. They resemble Christians in basic matters though they are strict monotheists not in communion with any of the Christian denominations and at first glance appear somewhere between Zoroastrianism and Judaism. Their distinction is that they consider the following Bible teachings to be fundamental and that none of them have been abrogated by Jeremiah's "New Covenant" which they simply take to mean the inscription of Torah on one's heart.

[edit] Organisation
Along with the related Druzes and Ismailis, The Church considers the Quran a most important revelation. However, such Quranic religions are not considered to be Islamic by mainstream Muslims.
The Church is not an organised religion but follows the Din of Noah as a sect who read the Zabur appearing like Zoroastrians and akin to Christianity but closer to Judaism. The most common term of self-reference for non-israelite members of The Greater Church of Israel is Sabi. The Arabic word Sabi is related to the Greek root sebes (from which derives Sebomai and Eusebeian, Theosebes and Sebomenoi) and the Hebrew root Shabh (From which derive the words Teshuvah and Toshav) both of which refer to pious reverence and submersion. They consider the prophet Muhammad (erroneously called Abu Qasim) to have belonged to their Church as well as the Umayyad Caliph Abd al-Malik who built the Dome of the Rock as a place of worship for the Jews (and a popular place of pilgrimage among members of The Church). Meditating in caves prior to find inspiration (to communicate with angels) is an important part of their quest for Tawheed Hunafa' (agnostic monotheism). Many other similarities between the Church and Muhammad and his companions led to them often being considered to have been Sabians. Most specifically this was because They used the Church's slogan "There is nothing mysterious but THE (one and only true) Mystery".
Although they call their legal system (Din) Alislam, they call their religion Sibghatullah which is definesd as "living submerged in the name of the divine mystery".Members are initiated through one Tevilah permitted for Teshuvah, but observe Tevilah regularly for purposes of reconciliatory ritual purity.
Characteristics of Sibghatullah besides their slogan include a mixture of Hebrew, aramaic greek and Arabic terms. They read from the Zabur (the book of Sabian Hymns) and using the sun for a general prayer direction. God's title is Adon Adonim. The Church looks to Noah as their prophet of their system "Alislam". They have five daily prayers only Matins standing alone while Sext can join Nonins and Vespers can join Complin giving the appearance of three. The church believes in all prophets reiterating the Din of Noah, which is the true Seal of The Prophets. They also fast for 30 days from the sighting of the new moon of Sagittarius. They look to Abram as a patriarch and any men who reach enlightenment mark the occasion with a circumcision ceremony. Both Men and women keep their heads to improve God-consciousness. Female circumcision is forbidden, but all rules can be broken in order to save a life.
Saint Peter's Nishmat prayer is recited by Tsabis on Sunday Sabbath (other Yukhasin observe Saturday Sabbath), Crouchmas, The Feast of The Circumcision, Noël (The Annunciation and New Year), Pascha, and The Analepsis. A different prayer by Saint Peter is said on Yom Kippur.
[edit] The Prodigal
The Church is in no way at all connected to the racist ideas of John Wilson and Edward Hine but does believe that many coastal areas of Europe were populated by the seafaring tribe of Dan (the serpent tribe) who had adopted gnosticism and so lost their place to Manasseh. The Church calls the assimilated Danites to repent back to the grouping Mursal Beta, or at the very least Mumin Gimmel of the greater Church.
