[edit] Costco
Being so similar to the earlier text is one of the reasons I decided to revert it. I think marketers edit that page from time to time, so I've been watching it for the past few months to keep correcting it when it starts drifting toward ad-speak. The "unlike other wholesale retailers, Costco is able to maintain higher consumer confidence." part was particularly dubious. Thanks for joining in to keep that article wikipedia-worthy! :) Lunkwill 20:26, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
- Well, I guess that is one of the faults of having a free-editing encyclopedia. Nevertheless, I will try to spot 'dubious' edits better. -Herenthere 23:38, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] MTA photo ban
I removed the passage below from the main NYC subway article:
In January 2007, the MTA tentatively approved a ban on taking pictures and video on the subway system citing that the NYPD felt that it could deter terrorists. [1]
Reason:
The referenced article on NY1 (40174) is from May 26, 2004 (there was another similar article (45737) on November 30, 2004). NY1 articles from 2007 are in the 66xxx number range.
Do not confuse the date at the top of the page on NY1 with the date of the article. If you were to click on "Transit" from the main page on NY1 you will see that there is no article regarding photography listed.
If you can prove by another source (other than NY1) that the MTA is proposing another ban then the passage can be put back - but not until then.

- Thanks for checking; I must have glanced really quick to find the date for the article and saw (today's) date by accident. Herenthere (Talk) 22:59, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Daylight saving time page is US-centric?
Recently you added the "globalize/USA" tag to Daylight saving time without saying why. I have attempted to fix things by removing several instances of the phrase "U.S." If you see more room for improvement, could you please discuss this on the talk page, in the U.S.-centric section? Thanks. Eubulides 03:25, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
- (This comment also found at Talk:Daylight saving time) Thanks for your concern, and I realize that removing "US" from some of the article does help a bit. However, it appeared to me that in the section "Benefits and drawbacks", most of the effects, including energy conservation and traffic fatality data, as well as the numerous mentions of American brandnames such as Clorox, 7 eleven, Kingsford Charcoal, etc. seem to "over-Americanize" DST. I just wanted to remind readers that there is some bias if British or European statistics/companies aren't mentioned and that if they come from those countries, that they could help improve it.
