The first HMAS Shepparton (J248/M248) was a Bathurst class corvette built by the Williamstown Dockyard at Melbourne, launched on 15 August 1942 by Lady Goudle, wife of the Commissioner of Public Works in Victoria, and commissioned on 1 February 1943.
HMAS Shepparton paid off to reserve on 10 May 1946, was sold for scrap on 20 February 1958 and towed to Japan by the Shitako Maru.
