Holly Hop Drive

The Holly Hop Drive was an invention by Holly in the comedy Red Dwarf.
Holly claimed that his invention could get the crew to Earth in a matter of seconds, exciting Lister. It turns out to be a box with two buttons, one for start and one for stop. Holly was proud of his invention while Rimmer sneered. Holly nearly blew the crew up during a countdown where he missed the seven (he has a blindspot for sevens). Red Dwarf didn't get to Earth but managed to land in a parallel universe where they meet the crew of another Red dwarf. This version contained female versions of all the current crew (except for the Cat, who met a male Dog).
The first impressions of the 'Holly Hop Drive' are described as 'just a box with the words stop and start' on it. Holly gives the instructions being: 'press start to start it and you can work out the rest of the controls for yourself'.
