Jammalamadugu is a small town in Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh in India. It lies on the left bank of the river Pennar and a small reservoir named 'Mylavaram' constructed on this river near this town. This place, sometimes referred to as Jambulamadaka in the earlier records, is the only town in the taluk and is the headquarters. It is almost in the border of three Rayalaseema districts Kadapa, Kurnool and Anantapur. It is also the headquarters of the Revenue Division and the Block bearing its name. Jammalamadugu has a considerable export trade in coarse sarees, produced both in the town and in adjoining villages. It is equally famous for its trade in ghee and also trades in cotton, groundnut, jowar and other millets. In recent years its trade in citrus fruits appears to be on the increase.

This constituency, like many others in Rayalaseema area was infested with factional feuds. But with the death of P. Siva Reddy, the factonism seems to be on the decline. His succesor P. Ramasubba Reddy is a moderate and he was recently acquitted in a murder case and released from the jail. Sources says still the case is in Apex court. Present M.L.A Mr. C. Adinarayana Reddy is seemd to be so dynamic in thinking and doing many social activities. He donates his salary to the Govt. General hospital. He is the founder trustee of CSR trust which takes care of Medical camps and encourages farmers in giving number of transformers which will be provided by the trust. At the same time he brings so many funds for the local minimum need programme which leads in bringing down the factional feuds.
