Jay Rodan

Jay Rodan (born May 15, 1974) is a South African born, British actor best known for his role as Paolo Bardosa on the fifth season of Footballers' Wives.

Jay was born in South Africa to a Scotish father and Afrikaans mother, British actor Jay Rodan grew up in the UK and Canada, where he attended secondary school in Vancouver. He became addicted to acting and at age sixteen he joined the Vancouver Youth Theatre. After high school he had a variety of odd jobs including circus ride operator, construction worker, and removal man. Following South Africa's historic election he traveled and worked there as a performing artist. He then returned to London where he initially busked in Covent Garden and outside Shakespeare's Globe to make ends meet. Rodan's break came when he was cast starring opposite Samuel L. Jackson in Kasi Lemmons New York-set The Caveman's Valentine (2001). He has since gone on to work with Bernardo Bertolucci, Franco Zeffirelli, and Uli Edel among others. He has starred opposite Ben Kingsley, Christopher Walken, and Jeremy Irons, all of whom he lists as influences. Rodan has also written a screenplay entitled 'Beyond Arcadia' which is in development.In more recent times he appeared on the fifth season of Footballers' Wives as Paolo Bardosa, arguably he is best known for this role. He has two children with his wife, the photographer Kayt Jones.
