Jay Tope

Jay Tope is an American radio personality who is the founder and senior editor of SAsports.com, a web site promoting high school sports and activities in San Antonio, Texas. In 2004, the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber Commerce named Jay Tope the 'Emerging Businessman of the Year' for his work with SAsports.com.
He worked in radio as a sports reporter for KISS-FM in San Antonio from 1990-1991 while serving in the U.S. Air Force. After leaving the service, Jay became the morning show producer for Sonny Melendrez from 1993-1997 on Magic 105.3 FM in San Antonio. He had a brief stint as a morning show host on KPOZ in 1997, followed by nearly six years as a traffic reporter for KTSA Radio. Prior to his work in San Antonio Radio, he was a singer-songwriter in Tucson, Arizona.
Jay Tope gained recognition in 2004 with a run for Mayor of San Antonio that was unsuccessful.
He graduated from Palo Verde High School in his hometown of Tucson, Arizona.
