Jeannie Reilly

Jeannie Reilly is a fictional character on the FX drama Rescue Me. The character is played by Peggy Scott.
Jeannie is the wife of Chief Jerry Reilly and mother of their gay son Peter Reilly. Jeannie suffers from alzheimer's and her condition often causes problems for Jerry.
On one occasion Jeannie forgot she was married and slept with another man, when Jerry kicked the man out of their house Jeannie thought Jerry was her brother Bud and was infuriated. On another occasion Jeannie woke up and began attacking Jerry accusing him of sleeping with her best friend (he had done so thirty years ago when Jeannie disappeared for three weeks).
Jeannie eventually had to be placed in a retirement home. Originally she hated being there but eventually came to love it. She mostly forgot about Jerry. Her Jamaican nurse advised Jerry to move on with his life (he soon after slept with the nurse and had a heart attack).
