[edit] Recent playing career and injury
Morris made 70 first-team appearances for the Lions before fracturing his cheekbone and then suffered cruciate knee ligament damage at Derby on his comeback game towards the end of the 2005/6 campaign. He signed a new one-year deal in June 2006, with the club having an additional one year option.[1]
[edit] Legal issues
Morris has received somewhat of a "bad boy" image for several legal and ethical issues. Chronologically, these include allegations: he was one of a group of Chelsea players who drunkenly abused American tourists at Heathrow airport within hours of the 9/11 attacks on New York City and the Pentagon [2]; engaged, along with fellow footballer John Terry, in a drunken brawl in 2002[3]; sexually assaulted two women in Leeds in 2003[4], charges on both were eventually dropped[5]; and being arrested and convicted for drunken driving in November 2006, and was disqualified from driving for 4 years, punishable with a jail sentence if he is found driving[6]
