Joe "Joe Dogs" Ianuzzi

Joe Ianuzzi aka Joe Diner aka Joe Dogs was the son of a Port Chester, New York bookmaker. Joe was a soldier for the Gambino crime family who also worked on occasion for the Colombo crime family. Joe later became an informant for the FBI.

Joe was first arrested in 1945 as a teenager for burglary. He served in the Korean War and was honorably discharged after he was stabbed in the leg with a bayonnet. As he grew older he moved onto more lucrative operations that involved extortion, bookmaking, loan sharking and drug trafficking. He married twice, his second wife was "Bunny" and he had three daughters. The godparents of his children was a West Babylon, Long Island bookmaker Michael "Midge" Belvedere.

In 1969 he bought a house in West Palm Beach and met Thomas Agro who would later become his compare and mentor. He became a successful gangster in Florida until Tommy Agro and two sluggers, Paul Principe and Frank Russo attempted to murder him in a botched gangland execution over two-months in overdue "juice" payments. This led to Joe Ianuzzi teaming up with the FBI that led to the incarceration of many New York and Florida mobsters of the Gambino crime family and Colombo crime family. He joined the Witness Protection Program with his family.
