John Birkinshaw

John Birkinshaw was a 19th Century railway engineer from Bedlington, County Durham.
- In 1821, whilst an engineer at Bedlington Ironworks, Birkinshaw developed a new method of rolling wrought iron rails in fifteen feet lengths.[1]
- Assistant engineer with Robert Stephenson on the London & Birmingham Railway (L&BR).[2]
- Assistant engineer with Robert Stephenson on the Birmingham and Derby Junction Railway.[3]
- Consulting Engineer for the Malton & Driffield Railway (MDR).[4]
