John W Stacey

John W. Stacey (born August 16, 1955) is the Chief of Police for the Bellevue Police Department in Bellevue, Nebraska.
John Stacey has served Bellevue as Chief of Police since July, 2005. Chief Stacey began his law enforcement career with the Sarpy County Sheriff's Department in 1973 where he made the rank of Shift Commander in 1978. He began his service to the Bellevue Police Department as a Patrol Officer that same year. Chief Stacey is a 1988 graduate of the FBI National Academy (154th session). Stacey holds an AS in Emergency Medical Science from Creighton University and a BS in Criminal Justice from Bellevue University.
In addition to his law enforcement service to the City of Bellevue, Stacey has served the Bellevue Volunteer Fire Department since 1971, including 13 years as Fire chief. He is active in many professional organizations including The Police Chiefs Association of Nebraska, The International Association of Chiefs of Police, The International Association of Fire Chiefs (Board Member) and The National Fire Protection Association (Committee Chairman). He serves on the Creighton University Advisory Board for EMS education and the Offutt Air Force Base Advisory Council.
He is the recipient of numerous public safety related awards including 3 life-saving citations.
