Joseph Wong

Joseph Wong Wing Ping GBS JP (王永平, born 1948) has been the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region's Secretary for Commerce, Industry and Technology since 22 January 2006. He was formerly Secretary for the Civil Service. He has been a member of the Executive Council of Hong Kong since 1 August 2000.
Wong graduated from the University of Hong Kong in 1969. He attended a one-year post-graduate course at the University of Oxford in 1974 and an eight-week Executive Program at Stanford University in 1989. Wong is a career civil servant and was previously Hong Kong's permanent representative to the GATT and the WTO.
