i think it is drawing a long bow to say that state supreme courts have unlimited jurisdiction, there are matters that they can't hear, which must be heard in the federal courts, or high court. thats what i thought. - I think the distinction that is intended is between a court like the Federal Court, with a jurisdiction entirely defined by statute, and the Supreme Courts which have general jurisdiction, arising out of any matter.
