Jyushinshuu
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The information contained here is mostly based on the Flame of Recca manga, which greatly differs from the anime series.
The Jyushinshuu is a fictional organization in the manga and anime Flame of Recca, and is a subdivision of a larger organization called Uruha. The Jyushinshuu consists of Kurei's top warriors, who are the highest ranking members of Uruha.
Most of the members of the Jyushinshuu competed in the Ura Buto Satsujin as leaders of different subdivisions of the Uruha. Kurei's team, Uruha Kurenai (Uruha Scarlet), consists of four members of the Jyushinshuu, and they were the undisputed champions of the tournament for three years.

[edit] Members of the Jyushinshuu
[edit] Genjuro
Genjuro is the leader of Uruha Maboroshii (Uruha Illusion), and wields a madogu called Mugen, which allows him to perform "psychic surgery" on people and gives him the ability to alter a person/object's size.
[edit] Jisho
Jisho is the leader of Uruha Kurogane, and wields a set of madogu called Jisouto. The Jisouto are actually two swords that represent the North and South directions, and are of opposite magnetic fields. Jisho is killed by Uruha Ma's leader, Magensha, during the third round of the tournament.
[edit] Neon
Neon is the leader of Uruha Oto (Uruha Sound). She and her "sisters"/teammates Miki and Aki were taken in by Kurei as maids when they had nowhere else to go, and it is because of the kindness he showed (and his devotion to Kurenai) that Neon pledges her allegiance to him. She kills "Genjuro" after Uruha Maboroshii lost to the Hokage, only to encounter him again at the latter part of the mangaIn the anime series, her voice is provided by Kaya Matsutani.)
[edit] Joker
Joker wields the Taishaku Kaiten, a trident that manipulates mass and gravity. In his dealings with the Hokage, he primarily keeps on dropping hints about their opponents and their own powers while keeping them in the dark regarding his true intent and nature. It is only during the final round of the Ura Butou Satsujin that the Hokage Team finds out that Joker is part of the Uruha Jyuushinshu, and is a member of Uruha Kurenai. His voice in the anime series is provided by Mitsuaki Madono.
[edit] Noroi
Noroi is a member of Uruha Kurenai, and wields the madogu Bakuju. The Bakuju actually has a mind of its own, and eradicates a human's memories and consciousness in order to posess his/her body. When the body he currently posseses starts weakening, the Bakuju looks for a younger, stronger body to be its new host. After Noroi is overpowered by Domon Ishijima, the Bakuju tries to possess Domon, but his strong will-power overcomes Bakuju's power. Noroi is voiced by Tohru Furusawa in the anime series.
[edit] Mikoto
Mikoto is part of Uruha Kurenai, and she uses a number of madogu throughout the series: the three large puppet madogu (Mikoto, Shirahige, and Ohtobide), and Dokumashin (a set of sharp claws that contain a combination of all the most lethal poisons in the world). Her voice is provided by Chieko Honda in the anime series.
[edit] Raiha
Raiha is the only member of Uruha Rai (Uruha Thunder). He is the descendant of certain Hokage ninjas who ran away during the war that ultimately destroyed the Hokage clan, and the reason why he is fiercely loyal to Kurei, because he believes that it is the only way he can repay the cowardice that his ancestors showed. He usually uses a ninja sword and shurikens to fight, but he also wields Raijin; the evil counterpart of Fuujin that can manipulate electricity. He often saves Fuuko from traps and gives her advice, but he battles her and is defeated in the end. His voice is provided by Kouichi Toochika (more known with his role as Neji Hyuga in Naruto) in the anime series.
[edit] Kai
Kai is a member of Uruha Kurenai, and he wields the weapon Hyoma En, which can manipulate water in all forms (solid, liquid, and gas) but focuses on the solid for of ice. Hyoma En is the evil counterpart of Tokiya Mikagami's Ensui, and has a mind of its own, constantly demanding to be fed blood. Kai studied Hyoumon Ken under Meguri Kyouza, who also trained Mikagami. Through constantly comparing him to Mikagami by saying that Mikagami is "gold" and he is "stone", Meguri Kyoza instilled within Kai a sense of anger and revenge in order to show Mikagami how futile living his life only for revenge is. Kai battles against Mikagami in the final round of the tournament and manages to defeat him, fulfilling his desire to be the best Hyoumon Ken master and in order to avenge his broken pride. After telling Mikagami not to live a life of revenge the way he himself did, Kai kills himself.
[edit] Rasen
Rasen does not appear until after the Ura Butou Satsujin, and by then he is serving under Mori Kouran as a member of the Ura Uruha. He wields the madogu Koukai Gyoku, which can erase anything. However, whenever something is erased, something of equal value is taken from its wielder. Because of his usage of Kokai Gyouku, Rasen has lost his feelings, his mother, and his blood. He had been searching for the moment wherein he would be erased as punishment for erasing his mother, but Recca convinces him to live on and stop using the Kokai Gyoku.
Rasen uses the Koukai Gyoku one last time in an attempt to erase Kagero's curse, and even though he managed to do so, the madogu itself was destroyed because of the curse's power.
[edit] Meguri Kyouza
Meguri Kyouza is the master of Hyoumon Ken, and teacher of both Kai and Mikagami. "Meguri Kyouza" is just a title that is passed on from Hyoumon Ken master to his successor, and this Meguri Kyouza just so happens to be Tokiya Mikagami's grandfather. When his son (Tokiya's father) died, Meguri Kyouza decided to pass the tradition on to his grandson. Mifuyu, Tokiya's older sister, refused to allow her younger brother to be exposed to violence, and volunteers to be Meguri Kyouza's student.
Meguri Kyouza blames Mifuyu's death entirely on himself for forcing her to take up Hyoumon Ken and passing Ensui on to her, but in his battle against Tokiya, Tokiya convinces him before he dies that she has surely forgiven him for what has happened.
[edit] Trivia
