Scott Nazelrod: As far as we can tell from checking our older records, here are the answers to your questions. #1 - Yes - barriers extend the entire length of the 236 miles #2 There was no exit 92 when the Turnpike opened, but there was an exit at milepost 182. #3 The toll plaza connecting with Highway 7 is the Bonner Springs plaza and yes it was open before 2000. #4 No, to the best of our knowledge we did not have a toll plaza at connecting to exit 414. #5 There Turner Diagonal exit was not plaza 231. We hope this information is helpful for your use in your article. Judy Gilchrist Public Relations Assistant Kansas Turnpike Authority
Hello, I am working on an article about the Kansas Turnpike for Wikipedia, an online encylopedia. The article has a few uncertain statements, which need citations to support them. Any documents, such as plans, straight line diagrams, or other records that can help answer these questions would be helpful. 1. Is the turnpike separated by Jersey (concrete wall) barriers for its entire length? 2. Were current Exits 92 and 182 present when the turnpike opened? 3. Was there a toll plaza on the Exit 223 connector before 2000? 4. When was there a toll plaza near current Exit 414? 5. Was the Turner Diagonal exit (current Exit 415) once Exit 231? Thank you in advance for any help you can provide. Sincerely, Scott Nazelrod
