Kocul
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Kocul (Koculi in Albanian) is a small village in the District of Vlorë in Albania. It is one of the oldest archeological sites in southern Albania. Amazingly, it has contributed greatly to the history of Albania: Duro Shaska was one of the founding fathers who signed the independence of Albania (1912), Qazim Koculi was the great hero of the Vlora's War (1920) and, briefly, the prime minister of Albania, and Shezai Rrokaj is the current rector of the University of Tirana. Furthermore, internationally known scientists Tanush Shaska, Eva Koculi and Hiqmet Kamberi are from Koculi.
