깨진 유리창 이론

깨진 유리창 이론은 미국 범죄학에서 연구되어 정리된 법칙으로서, 도시의 슬럼화가 어떻게 발생하는가에 대한 원리를 말한다.
깨진 유리창을 방치해 두면, 그 지점을 중심으로 점점 슬럼화가 진행되기 시작한다는 이론이다.

이 이론은 1982년 3월판 The Atlantic Monthly지에 James Q. Wilson과 George L. Kelling가 공동저술한 Broken Windows라는 글에 처음으로 소개되었다.
