The Photography was great... top notch. would love to see more of it. My user page is on Wikipedia. --merlinus 16:55, 26 April 2006 (UTC)

Hi Ljoo, May I request that you change Parameswara (sultan) for any edits to Parameshwara the Malay prince. The page that you are editing, Parameswara, is only a disambiguation page that points to the several different articles on people named Parameshwara. Thanks! --Pranathi 18:30, 27 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:VTspaghetti.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:VTspaghetti.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 09:05, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hello, welcome and Early history of Malaysia

On behalf of Malaysian Wikipedians, welcome to Wikipedia! You might be interested in Wikipedia:Malaysia-related topics notice board. We try to centralize stuff about Malaysia that needs work there. Also, thank you for writing Early history of Malaysia. However, I hope to rename it into Prehistoric Malaysia, in line with the current convention, per WP:MOS. There are already Prehistoric Europe, Prehistoric Scotland and Prehistoric Spain and if there isn't any problem, soon Prehistoric Hong Kong. For the sake of uniformity, I strongly believe Prehistoric Malaysia would do a better job in describing what the article is about compared to its current title. Thanks! __earth (Talk) 10:31, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Handcuff ISA.JPG

Wow, nice drawing! How did you paint it? Johnleemk | Talk 11:29, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

Ah, ok. That's really cool. We could use more artists on Wikipedia, especially since getting images we can use for articles (Malaysian ones in particular) is difficult. :D Johnleemk | Talk 08:10, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] redundant pages

Hello. I've noticed that some of your contributions involved redundant pages. For instace, Pasai vs Samudera vs Pasai Samudera or Malayu vs Malay. Or I-Ching vs Yi Jing. There is no need to create redundant pages on the same subject. You could simply improve on the pre-existing pages. Thanks. __earth (Talk) 09:50, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] re:Parameswara

Hi L Joo. Concerning Parameswara and the Sultanate of Malacca, yes, you are correct. However, I find some difficulty in finding a proper name to describe the state in question. Do you have any alternative name for the state? __earth (Talk) 14:46, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Srivijaya and Majapahit

Hey, good job with the maps. However, regarding Srivijaya and Majapahit's influence, I don't remember them having sovereignty over southeastern India or part of Indochina. In fact, during the times of Srivijaya and Majapahit, there were strong kingdom in India and Indochina. In India, there were the Cholas that conducted frequent raids on Srivijaya and other comtemporary kingdoms. On Indochina, there were the Khmer Empire, Sukhothai, Champa, Funan, etc. So, I think the Srivijaya and Majapahit maps need to be redrawn =( __earth (Talk) 18:07, 16 May 2006 (UTC)

I'm sorry for keeping visiting the same issue over and over again. However, while the new map that you added (Image:SoutheastAsia1400Map2.JPG) addressed the points that I first brought up, it has another problem of which I should have mentioned earlier. I don't believe Srivijaya and Majapahit had sovereignty over Borneo (or at least northern Borneo) and areas of modern day Philippines. During the 14th century, area of modern day East Malaysia was under Brunei while the Philippines islands were under a few other smaller kingdom (Sulu, Maguindanao, etc). Ultimately, Brunei had more power on these areas than Srivijaya/Majapahit. Thanks for your time. __earth (Talk) 10:47, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

hello, I suggest that you provide some citation from reliable sources the next time you edit a page on history. __earth (Talk) 12:38, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] re: Parameswara

I'm sorry but I don't get what you are trying to say? Would you mind rephrase your question please? __earth (Talk) 15:21, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

I don't know for certain but I could speculate. Tun Sri Lanang was a Muslim Malay. In Islam, Alexander the Great is looked upon highly. Though I'm not sure if it's mentioned in the Koran or the Hadith, I seem to remember of reading somewhere that Alexander was a believer of the Abrahamic tradition. So, it could be that Tun Sri Lanang was trying to justify the power of the Malaccan and subsequent Malay monarchs. A link to Alexander would elevate the status of the Malay monarch. __earth (Talk) 15:42, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
I haven't read Kedah Annals but if that is the case, then it might as well be it. __earth (Talk) 15:59, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] New Village

Please be sure not to include your political biases in the articles you write. User:Zoe|(talk) 01:04, 6 August 2006 (UTC)

Using the term "commies" would be one such example. User:Zoe|(talk) 01:11, 6 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Malaysian Mandarin

The examples of Malaysian Mandarin you gave on the above article seem to be Mandarin with periodic code-switching to Malay, than a whole new (regional/sub)dialect of Mandarin. Can you provide some alternative examples that are more indicative of Malaysian Mandarin as a unique and notable dialect? -- Миборовский 04:17, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Malaysian Chinese

I have started a vote on what the article should be called. Would you like to cast a vote? Andrew Yong 23:17, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:ChineseIndependentHighSchool004.jpg

Nice picture! Is this a picture of Tsun Jin High School? Anyway, I feel that you can add the school's name to the image summary. --Joshua Chiew 09:50, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

No, but I am a Chinese Independent High School student living in Kuala Lumpur. I pass by Tsun Jin every day to go to work part-time in the holidays, so I recognize it at first sight. Won't you mind if I change the picture summary to indicate it is Tsun Jin High School? Joshua Chiew 20:48, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
