Lawndale, Illinois

Lawndale, Illinois is a community northeast of Springfield, Illinois. The town lies on Highway 55, part of the old Route 66, between Atlanta and Lincoln. The town lies just south of Kickapoo Creek.
The Lawndale Incident: On July 25, 1977 two giant unidentified birds, commonly known in Crypto-Zoology as "Thunderbirds", passed over Lawndale Illinois. One swooped down and grabbed ten-year-old Marlon Lowe from his backyard, dropping him soon after, most likely due to the loud screams of his mother, who was watching along with six other witnesses.[citation needed] [1]
