Leslie Abramson

Leslie Abramson (born c. 1944) is a famous American criminal defense attorney best known for her role in the legal defense of Lyle and Erik Menendez. In 2004, she was hired by Phil Spector, who is charged with fatally shooting actress Lana Clarkson at his suburban Alhambra mansion, replacing his former attorney Robert Shapiro.

She graduated from Queens College and UCLA School of Law. Leslie was admitted into the California State Bar in 1970 and she began her career in the Los Angeles Public Defender's office and developed a reputation as a fierce advocate for her clients. Abramson also is known for her very abrasive cross examination of witnesses. She has frequently been scolded by judges for it.^{[citation needed]}

During the Menendez sentencing hearing, it was revealed that Abramson had a psychologist hide potentially incriminating information against Eric Menendez. A year long investigation into the matter resulted in no charges being filed.
