[edit] History
Lin is one of the four elites of the legendary Hizoku (Flying Brigands) ninja clan from China. One day, the clan leaders notified him of the disappearance of his clan members. He set out, and using his tracking abilities, eventually found a member of the NESTS cartel. After killing him, he realized that the organization was responsible for his member's disappearance. After notifying his superiors, Lin is assigned his most important task yet; to infiltrate the next King of Fighters tournament, and eliminate any NESTS agent in his way.
To enter the tournament, Lin needed a team. Eventually joining with Seth, Shingo Yabuki, and Benimaru Nikaido. They entered, and found the threat of the cartel, Clone Zero. Teaming together, he and his team eventually defeated the NESTS madman, and escaped the city of Southtown as the Zero Cannon got fired.
Since then, Lin has gone to investigate the whereabouts of his rival, the ninja Ron. His investigation and sources eventually lead him to the conclusion of the next King of Fighters tournament. After discovering the Original Zero, and assisting in the task of defeating him, Lin discovers Ron, who informs him of joining NESTS to receive greater power. The two fight, with neither gaining the upper hand. However, the space station in which they are present begins to descend into the atmosphere, and Ron escaped in the confusion. Lin also escaped the destruction, and has resumed his hunt for Ron since.
However, by the time of King of Fighters XI, Lin appears as an entourage to his rival Ron, who wanted to seize the Dragon Power of Sie Kensou and Bao. The reason behind this unlikely union has yet to be revealed.
[edit] Appearances
He appeared as a playable character in The King of Fighters 2000 and The King of Fighters 2001. Other cameo appearances include him being on a rooftop in the Graveyard stage of KOF: Maximum Impact, and another one sitting on the upper level railing of the Dragon's Lair stage in KOF: Maximum Impact 2.
[edit] Moveset
Lin's moveset underwent something of an overhaul between KOF's '00 and '01. His Metal Splitter combo attack was completely reworked, his teleport was redone, and two old DM moves were traded for a new one, the visually impressive Thousand Hands technique. This move is somewhat reminiscent of Ryuji Yamazaki's Hebi Tsukai moves.
Lin also possesses a special technique that is identical to Ryo Sakazaki's Kyokugen-Style Zanretsuken.
[edit] Trivia
- The other Elite Members of the Hizoku Clan appear in one of Lin's 2001 win poses. Their names are revealed to be Sai (or Chai), strength of the team; Chitto (or Chatto), which is the quickest; and finally, Ran, who is the only female member of the team and seems to be stronger that Lin.
