[edit] User:Ling.Nut/Taiwanese people
I think we should make it:
- User:Ling.Nut/Taiwanese people/1 (How Nrtm81 would edit it)
- User:Ling.Nut/Taiwanese people/Maowang (How Maowang would edit it)
- User:Ling.Nut/Taiwanese people/3 (Proposed cleanup version, i.e. Teamwork. Ling.Nut can work on this page as well)
I'd like to have a page to edit to show how I intended to clean up the article so we can see a side-by-side comparison with the current article.
If Maowang planned on cleaning up the article as well, then I'd like to see how he'd fix it. If not, both you and Maowang can point out any problems with my edits and we can work together on the proposed clean up article to replace the current version with. — Nrtm81 08:29, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
I'll have to do my clean up next week.Maowang 00:12, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
- Take your time. Wow, this article is very complicated. Your intro only mentions Taiwan. What about Penghu, Lanyu, Hsiao Liuchiu, Green Island, and Orchid Island. The last one for example should be part of the Batanes (Philippines). The island and people are Ivatans split between ROC and Philippines when the Dutch ousted the Spanish from Taiwan. Would the inhabitants of these lesser islands be considered Taiwanese too? or just dismissed as aborigines? Hence the reason I chose to call all people under ROC jurisdication as Taiwanese (not nationality but based on geography), especially since 99% of the population and territory of ROC is Taiwan island alone. — Nrtm81 18:07, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
Well, I opened a few books on the subject and...halfway there. The ROC as Taiwanese is just not being supported by anyone in the "identity" field. The Taiwanese as immagined community is in just about every book on the subject with some notes to Earnest Gellar. I'm trying to supply all the source material I can, so that I can be as careful and as accurate as possible. I guess my neighbor, who is on the same wifi connection left an angry message on the discussion. Sorry about that.Maowang 15:01, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
What? I haven't done anything yet...Maowang 06:05, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Re: recommend copyeditor(s)?
Not sure, off the top of my head. Have you tried asking WP:LOCE? Kirill Lokshin 23:04, 31 March 2007 (UTC)

Sorry for the late response but I believe you're right about the tattoo. Abstrakt
[edit] Review
See my brief notes and nitpicks at User:Renata3/ppl. The article is really good. What would be interesting to add (though the article is probably too lng already) is their original culture: tattoos, music, clothes, celebrations, etc. Also number of people for each tribe would be ideal. Hi. I'll try to set some time aside to help with it; however, things have been pretty tight lately, so I can't make a full promise yet. — Deckiller 02:05, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

I have a short memory on quarrels and long memory on good editors; thanks for the thought and the branch, even if I can't remember why we may have quarreled :-) Your comments there were excellent! SandyGeorgia (Talk) 00:41, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
