Living with the Land is a ride located within The Land pavilion which is part of Epcot theme park in Walt Disney World Resort at Lake Buena Vista, Florida. It is a boat ride, which is part dark ride and part greenhouse tour. The focus of the ride is on agriculture, especially new technology to make agriculture more efficient and environmentally friendly.
As of August 20, 2006, 'Living with the Land' will no longer feature Cast Members narrating the second portion of the ride. Instead they are going to be replaced with an automatic audio spiel. The attraction was closed for this renovation from August 20th, 2006 until September 9th.

[edit] The Ride
Living with the Land is a slow-moving boat ride.
The first part of this attraction is a dark ride passing through scenes of rainforests, prairies, and farm lands. It has audio-animatronic animal figures and uses sound and lighting effects to simulate various weather conditions. This part of the ride focuses on the relationship between humans and the environment, and the ways that humans modify the environment.
The second part of the ride focuses on new technology for agriculture. It passes through fish farms, working greenhouses, and laboratories. The tour guide discusses innovations in growing techniques and points out examples of such techniques, such as hydroponic gardening, drip irrigation, and intercropping.
[edit] Listen to the Land
Living with the Land is an updated version of a previous attraction, Listen to the Land. Both attractions are nearly the same. The opening scene, the Symphony of the Seed, was removed for the Living with the Land update.
[edit] Trivia
- Some of the food grown in the greenhouses is served to guests at restaurants in the Land Pavilion.
