In 1936 the Lyceum was used to show the premiere of the movie film "THE GANG SHOW" it was produced by the director Herbert Wilcox and starred Ralph Reader (Founder & Creator of the famous Scout Gang Shows) also Stuart Robertson and Gina Malo plus 150 Boy Scouts from the original Scala Theatre London stage shows. At the end of the premiere Wilcox dissolved the film through a gauze and set behing were the entire cast in the positions they had been in on the film and they reprised the complete finale of "CREST OF A WAVE" During its run the film had royal patronage plus visits from other heads of state and members of the government. As far as records show ths was the only film ever to play the Lyceum Theatre. The opening premiere programme shows the evenings show to contain Pathe Newsreel and a Mickey Mouse cartoon. At the premiere thew stars of London came out in force to hail Ralph Reader and his scout Gang Shows. They included Jack Buchanan, Anna Neagle, Elsie Randolph, and Ivor Novello.
