Lynnwood High School is a high school in the Edmonds School District, located in Lynnwood, Washington. The school has approximately 1400 students enrolled for grades 9-12.
The school schedule is based on a 6-period schedule with each class lasting 50 minutes each. There is also an integrated period for silent reading. There is also a portion of time set aside before and after school to help students with their learning, though this is optional.
Lynnwood High School's mascot is a Chimera. The beautiful figure can be seen in the center of the gymnasium in the form of a hand-painted art piece. However, many pictures within the school represent the school's mascot as a mere lion cub. The Chimera is one of several mascots that have been associated with the school–the original mascot was the longhorn steer, and for portions of the 1980s, the mascot was the Royal. The current mascot is the Chimera but it is still commonly referred to as the "Royals".
The school currently sits directly across from Alderwood Mall on what used to be a wetland. Runoff from the hill behind the school and low elevation has required that Lynnwood High School have water pumps working full time to remove excess water. If the water pumps should fail then the whole school would flood within minutes.[1] As a result of these factors as well as deteriorating building conditions, Lynnwood High School will move to a new location. Construction of the new school has already taken place and is expected to be completed by 2009.[2]

- Lynnwood High School won KING 5's "Most Spirited School" award 3 times consecutively between 2001-2004.[3]
- First high school in the state to have a new program called Breaking Down the Walls, a weeklong program focused on reducing stereotyping and making school more caring.[citation needed]
- Lynnwood High School's jazz band took second place in the AA division of the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival in the 2004-05 school year.
- Both the band and orchestra received superior ratings for their division at the Music in the Parks competition in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho in May of 2006.[citation needed]
- In 2007, Lynnwood High School has won the Bronze Presidential Service award for garnering an average of 30 volunteer hours per student.[citation needed]
