Mae Naak

Mae Naak Prakanong ("Nak" is another common spelling) is Thailand's best known ghost story. It has been the subject of numerous films as well as a popular opera by Somtow Sucharitkul. Perhaps the best-known film version is Nonzee Nimibutr's Nang Nak.
Nancy Yuen, well known British soprano of Hong Kong extraction, performed the title role in Somtow Sucharitkul's Mae Naak, both at its premiere and in its 2005 revival.
