Making the Video
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Making the Video is an MTV show, consisting of half-hour episodes, which chronicles the process of filming various music videos. Usually the director outlines the concept of the video (or treatment) and the show often includes light-hearted and humorous moments. It always concludes with a premiere of the finished video. The show premiered on July 11, 1999 and new episodes still air to this day.
MTV2 has a similar show entitled [Name of Band/Artist] Makes a Video that has featured artists such as Fall Out Boy, Dashboard Confessional, Evanescence, and Mos Def among others.

[edit] Criticism
Criticism has been brought heavily upon some episodes of Making the Video. Recently, when +44 had announced their special world premiere of their video "When Your Heart Stops Beating", the program was never aired, and instead replaced with AFI. Angels & Airwaves had a similar case with their premiere of "Do It for Me Now".
Also, on the episode of Ice Cube's "Go To Church", featuring Lil Jon, after the video was introduced, the left side of the screen shows tour dates for Pearl Jam for the first 15 seconds, thus blocking the video.
