[edit] Nobel Peace Prize
In 2005 she was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for her work promoting world peace.
- Being nominated for the Peace Prize is an honor, but it is not official and not necessarily prestigious. Any national legislator or about a third of the university professors in the world can make a nomination, and there have been as many as 160 some years. Nominators are requested to keep their nominations secret, so it's only those wishing publicity who make announcements. In most instances the reports of prize nominations seem to just be unattributed rumors. Altogether, I see no reason to keep it. No offense to the subject, this is a general Nobel Peace Prize "nominees" issue. -Willmcw July 7, 2005 07:53 (UTC)

- agreed. I initially simply included the Nobel Peace prize reference as I was translating parts of the Polish article. I've removed it. If anybody feels strongly about this they can contribute to the discussion and/or insert it again later. Adz 7 July 2005 09:10 (UTC)
[edit] Vegetarian?
How relevant is it that she is a vegetarian? Many people are vegetarians but unless it is in some way relevant to her work then I don't think it belongs in an encyclopaedia entry. Otherwise we should also mention all of her likes and dislikes, favourite colour, whether she wears glasses or contact lenses and what her shoe size is. If it is relevant to her work - for example if she promotes animal welfare policies, advocats vegetarianism, or advocates more taxes for meat or restrictions on meat sales - then I think her vegetarianism should be mentioned in another paragraph and expanded upon. (I may have missed the point and vegetarianism in Poland might be an important political statement/social issue/status factor but if this is the case then it too should be explained)
