Maureen Preston

Maureen Preston was a minor character on the NBC soap opera Passions. The character was played by Cynthia Holloway from July to August 2005.
Maureen and her son were in hiding presumably from her husband. Maureen died in a Tsunami but before she died she asked Sheridan Crane to raise her son Mark.
Shortly after Maureen's death a man named Christopher Boothe came to Harmony claiming to be Maureen's husband Greg Walton. He claimed he and the family had to go into the witness relocation program to avoid the mafia and that they were given new identities. Chris and Sheridan began to raise Mark who Chris claimed was originally named James. It was later revealed by Spike Lester that Chris was never married to Maureen nor was he James's father. Chris was in fact hired by Sheridan's father Alistair Crane.
The identity of James's father as well as Maureen's real name and background remain a mystery.
