Michinoku Pro Wrestling is a Japanese professional wrestling promotion, founded by Masanori Murakawa (The Great Sasuke) in 1993. It is also sometimes called "North Eastern Wrestling" and was the first independent wrestling promotion in Japan that isn't based in Tokyo, but instead in Morioka, Iwate. Its featured wrestling style is lucha libre, but over the years it has accepted wrestlers from other styles, such as shoot style Hanzo Nakajima, Naohiro Hoshikawa, Tiger Mask IV, Shoichi Funaki and Ikuto Hidaka.
In 2003, Sasuke left the running of the promotion to Jinsei Shinzaki, the only heavyweight wrestler in the promotion, to concentrate on his duties as a newly elected Iwate Prefectural assembly member.
