Mike Gonzalez (activist)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Mike Gonzalez is a Marxist historian and a leading member of the Socialist Workers Party in Britain, and a member of Solidarity - Scotland's Socialist Movement.
He is a Professor in the Hispanics Department of the University of Glasgow and has written widely on Latin America. In his writings and speeches concerning Cuba, Gonzalez is particularly critical of the events that followed the Cuban Revolution of 1959, comparing Cuba to a state-capitalist economy in direct contradiction to grassroots socialism.
In Summer 2006 he testified in the Sheridan defamation trial in Sheridan's defence.
